Are black box events for upcoming artists dying? In the years after COVID, there has been an ongoing debate about the struggles many smaller cultural venues face in selling tickets for shows featuring new and upcoming artists. Why is this happening? And what can we do about it? Should venues build a stronger community around themselves, sell cheaper tickets, or host more site-specific events?
